Triangle Desi,

Very well said. This site is highly political & commercial. Manoj is a chamcha & a cheap person. The moderators have to please all for monetary reasons so you can't blame them & guys like him are of great help to moderators so they will let him have the same rights. In India, when a dog barks at night other dogs in the area also start barking and very soon it turns out to be a barking competition.

Indian,

Please explain why you say the site is highly political?

Please explain what kind of help that you think Manoj is providing to Moderator?

Folks ask for equal rights to everyone. Why are you objecting to that?

What kind of feelings you want to leave about yourself when you use offensive language?

Members build their credibility by contributing. They also loose the credibility when they drag down the community.

Moderator actions are not just based on Monetary reasons. There are various other reasons. They have to answer the phone calls from businesses, non-profit organizations and community leaders when some one accuses a business, community or non-profit organization. We do NOT try to please everyone. We try to provide a platform for everyone to express their feeling and their experience.

Thanks
Moderator

Hi there,

Do you really need answers to the questions? Come on, you already know but like to pretend ignorance ?

What's the big deal when you get phone calls ? Can't you tell those who call you to read what some one has written and reply to it or change their ways of working or take note of what the people say about them.

You don't have the guts to stop anonymous posters and that's the problem. You think my language is offensive ? Strange but you never feel the same about language of guys like Manoj because that meets your standards.

Wow moderators are letting someone criticize the site and integrity on their own site and yet blamed for being political....

It is meaningless thread. Some people (probably total of two) are not able to communicate their point based on facts (probably because they don't have facts right) and are blaming moderators for being political. It is possible now they will come after me because I am voicing for moderators.

Moderators:- can you please lock this thread. This is really not going anywhere because these people have grudge and not using the facts.

You really opened a can of worms here by suggesting to the public to use a particular Sponsorer. And you made it worse by comparing this site to NPR.

First of all NPR is a non-profit so their whole working is based on donations and sponsorship. You are not. You are a For-Profit organization looking to make money with this site.
No Problem… Kudos to you for building this site. And I hope you are successful.

What is not right is your personal recommendation for a service provider. Even if you disclose that you are doing it because they are sponsoring this site it is still Unprofessional.

NPR does not say, please buy or use a particular vendor. They say their name, they advertise and they get paid for it. But I have never heard anyone say,
‘He is very professional and very nice person. Use him….’

Nope. Your Avatar says that you are a moderator, so moderate.

As you said this is a public forum… You might think you’re first responsibility is to the paying few however I think a better business model is to serve the public. They are your real customers. I understand that you want Sponsors, and you will get them. Let the site grow without forcing it… As it grows, people will come to advertise.

No, it is not unprofessional. I have seen CNBC anchors pimp GE stock. I don't think they are unprofessional. They do add that GE is the parent company of the network and their reponsibility ends there.

You are comparing CNBC with this site ! You may justify what you want to but when you strech yourself to such extents then it appears unrealistic. Moderators talk so big, can't they just say sorry in case their actions have hurt few who may not even matter to them. Will such a gesture cost them anything or by jumping on the roof top and saying no sir, no sir, we meant this & we did not mean what you understand leads no where :( & then some where else they ask like a innocent kid as to where the forum is heading ? What a tamasha ? Do you need millions to run a website ? Apply some limits atleast.

Why should moderators' action of a Realtor suggestion hurt anyone? Moderators suggested a Realtor who sponsors this site with total disclosure. It is neither an insult nor an action to hurt anyone.

Asking for feedback also appears right because moderators are being unjustly criticized.

As A said "Why should moderators' action of a Realtor suggestion hurt anyone?"

It is pretty simple because the other realtor who is part of AT will not like it. Specially when moderators pointing someone seems like a good friend of moderator. May be that realtor is good friend but how do you know him or her is good realtor too. I think moderators should let realtors introduce by themselves.

Sorry, but moderators should be equal with everyone.

No apology from moderators is necessary. Saying sorry would show regret for an action that was proper and did not violate any ethical norm. If you think that this is some sort of a Tamasha then enjoy while you can and then move on. In fact, you owe an apology to the site Admin.

... and CNBC was just quoted to show how big companies do.

Thanks for all the feedback and unspoken support.

The forums will stay open for anonymous users. We have tried it for only registered users earlier and it has not worked out well. We have thought long about it and decided that it will stay the way it is.

Lets not make this more controversy. We are locking this thread and where is AT forums headed.

Thanks
