Hi ..

I am trying find a apartment to lease in morrisville/cary.
Got quotes from crosstimbers and cornerstone on high house for 1 bed/1bath.

Both are at approx same distance from my work place.
I would like to know which one of the two is better considering the maintenance,
safety and most imporatantly the number of indians who stay there.

Actually the one at crosstimbers was kind of adjoining to the main road.
I am also not sure about the noise there.

Any help on this would be great.

Regards,
Vishwanath

Cary is the best place to live for you. Most apartment complex are similar and we have only Indians around.

Cary is reasonably safe place and good for families.

I don't know where Cross Timber is BUT I do know Corner Stone is nice.

Thanks a lot for the inputs :)

I paid up the advance for an apartment in Corner Stone.
I was told that i need to get rental insurance for the house.
I was surprised because there was no mention of it on the application ( atleast i dont remember reading).

Is it mandatory to have rental insurance.
Any suggestions on where/how to purchase.

You can ask for a copy of the application. For our apt at Raleigh, there was nothing like rental insurance. Please go thru the terms & conditions carefully and make sure that with-in the stipulated time you submit a list of defects in the apartment that come to your notice, hand over the list and obtain a signature of receipt on your copy as well as forward one by email or else at the time of vacation you will face problems. They would like to find a good excuse to not return the deposit at the time of vacation.

I have stayed in 9 different apartments in last 11 years. I was never requested to buy renters insurance. Are you sure it is mandatory?

I once had to buy the insurance for installing the dish!!

Also, the renters insurance covers your belongings and not the property itself. The apartment complex carriers the property insurance and I am at a loss why they are asking you to buy the renters insurance.

Nevertheless it would cost around 15 to 20 bucks for a $25,000 insurance. get it from the same company where you have auto insurance and ask for multi-policy discount.

We lived in one appartment near buck jones road since 1997..In 2003 they made it compulsory to have rental insurance..I think our liability requirement was 50,000 $...but I had added all valuables from home and I used to pay less than 100 $ for year...I had called Geico our car insurance and they had directed our call to Travelers so it was insured by travelers...after we left appartment we changed it from rental to home with Travelers.
