Divya,

Congratulations on getting your internship.

I have heard that The Hamptons is a good one with Indians living there. It is right in RTP. I have not lived there so can't say that.

Just opposite to the apartment there is a Indian Grocery store called 'Around the World'. Also, VGS is close by. I believe, VGS was the first grocery store in Durham. You can call them and ask about nearby apartments. The numbers are in Apna Triangle Yellow Pages section.

I am sure you will get reply from folks living in Durham.

Thank you very much for the reply. I have heard that durham does not have public transport. Is that true?
Also, if i happen to get an appartment lil far off from RTP, would it be possible to commute back and forth?

The public transport is not that good here. Here is the link to routes and maps - data.durhamnc.gov/schedules.cfm . Commuting is usually difficult with out a car.

Bexley is a good option it is on the south end of the RTP (little over a mile south of Cisco).

Southern Oaks is another apartment which is in RTP. I know a person who lives there. Let me if you are intersted and I can put you in touch with her.

Divya,

Depending on where you will be working, you have a lot of options around RTP. I myself stayed at Colonial grand at Arringdon and it was very close to Hwy 40 exit 282 and walking distance from AT&T and Quintiles.

Hi All:
I would be working at DRI Corporation. The address being:

4018 Patriot Drive, One Park Center, Suite 100
P.O. Box 14068
Durham, NC 27703

I don't have a car and have no plans on buying one as i am just going to be there for like 2 months. I need to look for any apartment which has a bus stop nearby so that it's easy for me to get to my work place. Please let me know what would be the best suitable option for me.

Thanks,
Divya

Looks like staying in BrierCreek and taking Route 15 (Bus) is good for you. Call the Durham Area Transit authority and find out. Here is the information about Route 15 - data.durhamnc.gov/route15.cfm

Call DRI and ask whether anyone takes the but there.

Hope this helps

Hi Divya,

I am staying in The Hamptons apartments which is close to RTP.
The apartments management also provides transportation to RTP.

I can give you the Hamptons apartment's office number so that you can find more details.
There is an Indian Grocery store(Around The World) also opposite to the apartment.
Also we have bus stop next to the main gate of the apartments.
So I believe this will be convenient for you.

Hamptons Office number:919-484-1321
