Guys,

I have been hearing about Robbery of Desi houses. We have to be more vigilant and careful. Please lets think of ideas on steps to take to avoid being the next victim.

They seem to steal the gold and come with metal detecters. They have been extremely quick and complete their operation in few minutes.

do they come when no one is home?or come any time?do they kill or hurt...

for 'FYI' just remember that who caome to your house for repair or any thing make sure get his ID and where he is going plus what kind of phone he or she has , they can take pic, if u thing he or she asked you lots of ?. and stay in your house longer time , making sure the garage door lock some time they by pass the security ,goodluck.

Raleigh police investigators are looking for at least two men who they believe might be involved in seven armed robberies and an attempted robbery at convenience stores and chain restaurants within the past three weeks.

In each case, the men have taken steps to conceal their appearances, wearing bulky coats and bandanas, and have used a combination of long guns and handguns during each crime, police said. There have been not been any reports of injuries.

Investigators said they want to stop the men before the crimes become violent.

"Obviously because firearms are involved, we're really concerned for the potential of danger of the public, to the clerks, the people working, the people in the neighborhood," Sgt. M. J. Jackson said.

The first robbery happened at 11:09 p.m. Oct. 26 at Papa John's, at 5260 Capital Blvd. Five days later, on Oct. 31, Peace Street Market, at 804 W. Peace St., was robbed at 11:45 p.m.

In the Peace Street Market robbery, one of the men was wearing a blue NBA "throwback" jacket with the logo for the Syracuse Nationals on the back. The jacket is believed to have "1949" on the left sleeve and "NBA" on the right sleeve. The man was wearing dark-colored jeans and dark-colored Converse Chuck Taylor-style high-top shoes with white trim.

An Exxon at 4301 New Bern Ave. was the target of an attempted robbery at 1:15 a.m. on Nov. 6. Less than a half-hour later, at 1:39 a.m., the Circle K at 2400 Spring Forest Road was robbed.

Domino's Pizza, at 4339 Falls of Neuse Road, was also robbed at 9:52 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Sophie's Deli, at 3130 Integrity Drive, was robbed Nov. 8 at 8:59 p.m. In that case, police said, witnesses saw only one of the men.

The most recent robberies happened Saturday, shortly after midnight, at the Circle K at 2600 Lake Boone Trail and at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Roma's Pizzeria, on 3805 Brentwood Road. Police said a third man was involved in the Circle K robbery.

Cary police are also working with Raleigh police to see if a convenience store robbery involving two men might be related to the Raleigh crimes.

Hindi mein batein karte hai.Ye gold detector kaise kaam karta hai?Socho I take ek tiny aluminum dabba and ander gehene rakh diye, uss tiny dabbe ko aur ek bade dabbe mein rakh diya aur usmein daal bhar diya.

I don't have additional interest in knowing about it further and hence didn't go through the content in to more details (I bought only 1 biscuit so far in the last 10 years, that too because my elders (in India) wanted to see one). Hence, the whole topic (if it is gold robbing alone) is 'not' my cup of tea. Also, I am not a (strong?) supporter of wearing / carrying gold on the body / in the house. Rest is for the remaining readers to continue the Dos and Donts (if the topic is for 'gold' only).

P.S. If the topic is on general safety and security measures (about robbery), most (if not all) of the incidents revolve around houses and I live in apartment. Hence, not much to offer from that front as well, except: have a home surveillance measures, don't leave valuables in home for longer (than weekend) duration, inform neighbors if leaving for longer duration, Google for additional measures (stop paper, hold mail, buy "Fake TV", etc.)

Robberies and attempted robberies have occurred at apartments too. Ask residents of Weston Oaks and Cornerstone Apartments. Be aware, take precautions, and get a gun.

Agree, apartment resident need to worry.watch when you are walking,jogging in community.
Don't go alone to laundry. don't leave door open even for a minute.

Latest case 17 november on Mannington drive, morrisvile. Is that desi home from breckenridge?

This proves only one thing. People buy liabilites thinking it is asset. Which is why it causes stress.

As long as you can prove your belongings by video tape, photos, documents etc. the Liability insurance of the house will have to reimburse you.

It might take a bit of persitency in some cases so that insurance pays up.

How come you don't know? All most all desis know this and specially if you have links with Twin lake and breckenridge desi Indians. They leave back imitation and 1 gram jewellery pick only pure gold and dimond jewellery.
