My wife threatened me to take legal route over money.

Is there anything I can do?

Make or BUY peace.

Tell her this is not the time for legal actions/arguments. The economy is in bad shape & lawyers will squeeze most of your money in litigation. Go in for arbitration by some one whom you both trust. If you need more help let us know.

count your blessings ... most wives spends way more than divorce would ever cost their husband

Don't you know threatening men is quite routine for all women. It could be small or serious matter like first poster. threatening does not come in picture once couple applies for divorce.

As Manoj Fan said, see if you both can settle by going to some one you both trust. The best way is to find a good solution that works for both of you.

If not, then you may want to talk to a professional (lawyer). Try a service called www.JustAnswer.com and they may be cheaper. I tried them for a question about my car and service was good. Make sure you mention all the facts. Where you got married, visa status, how did you get that money (earned it, borrowed, investments..), are you planing for a divorce..

We are not physically together nor are we separated/applied for divorce.

Somehow she thinks I am wrong in everything I do. There is no convincing her that nothing is wrong and I don't even want to try. Heaven forbid what will happen if I tell her that it is just her way of thinking that is making her feel that way.

And I am getting tired of her pessimism after all ther is a limit to everyting.

She is working. We have two kids, a Girl (elder) and a Boy.

Have you expressed your feelings to her clearly? Discuss the alternatives of finding a solution - working with someone both of you know, discussing with each other openly, seeking professional help.... If all fails, you have to look at protecting yourself and parting ways in good terms..

Hi, Guy's in NC law is not that easy to get divorce cuz u have to live sperately for about 1yr and then applied for divorce.
all u need a 285 dollar to file for divorce, in down town wake county court house 11th floor. make sure u have a sperate address for each other, otherwise they do not do it, go to the court and tell them we want a divorce calm and collect and u can solve this problem very cheap , try to save your money it will help u later, for both of u.grow up this is not our country this is USA , u don't known that what kid's go thru with this problem .kids will suffer most , u guys grow out of it but kids don't, i think that's why people came to USA and forget about their culture, stop blaming each other, thing about your kids.GOODLUCK.

Come out from Husband & Wife Relation, and be as Parent to your Kids.

I agree but in order to clap two hands are needed without which it will not be a clap by any means.

Your wife has job,two sweet growing kids,calm and understanding husband (based on your posts), you guys live in one of the best city in USA. I simply feel she is just ignorant. I pity her. It is not like she is after money but she just wants to do what she wants to do and just because it has now become difficult she feels maybe that it will be better if done legally.

Little does she know that whatever little savings we have left will be wiped off by these legal thugs.
