TOPIC: Violin lessons for 5 year old

Violin lessons for 5 year old 12 years 9 months ago #13242

Looking for western classical violin lessons for five year old. I am only looking for music schools as opposed to private teachers. Any recommendations?

But don't ever buy him a violin, if you want some peace and quiet.

If you don't have anything to offer why do you even respond?!

I am disappointed at the way this forum is working. I asked a very genuine question about recommendation for classes. There were more useless responses (except the reference by Info.). I am not encouraged to use this forum in future. This is pathetic.

Well, this is a very strong reaction. By now you should have got used to interactions on desi forums. But in any case, Anonymous just wrote in humor and at best you could have avoided his comments. There was honestly nothing objectionable in his post and at first reading even I found it funny. You being a mother must have felt sentimental about it. Ofcourse people should be sensitive but then that is not the case here generally. So let us learn to live with it and continue to make AT a good platform for information.

Do post some pictures of your son's first violin lessons.

I agree with Manoj Fan & second that the Anonymous poster might just want to add dash of humor - there was nothing objectionable. Don't base your judgements based on one ot two responses. In the past you did get some quality responses as well.

Anyways, you might want to contact someone @ icmds.org/ - I am sure they will have more direct contacts & info with what you are looking for. Hope it helps.

Following are some of the threads started by kanaka.

Skin Solutions
Eyebrow threading
Nurseries
Violin

Some of them got no responses. Does that explain the frustration?

I am not taking sides or speaking like a Moderator. It will be best if we close this chapter. Mom Kanaka just got carried away and it set a pattern of reaction. Let every one participate and have fun,

Hmmmm... 4 posts started - mainly requesting for information. How many posts did he/she contribute to? Zilch?

It has to be give and take - that's the rule of nature. It just cannot be one-way all the time.

Not sure if he/she got response to the first 2 but she definitely got some very good responses on #3 which even kanaka acknowledged and someone made some comments on #4 which kanaka didn't like so he/she trahsed the entire AT community.

Exactly! ... and then he/she threatens to quit using this forum in future as if that will make everyone beg him/her for continued patronage. LOL
