With the long weekend just around the corner - i am sure lot of us will be having guests/friends coming over.

Any suggestions on interesting, different, Cocktails/Mocktails that you have recently tried and want others to enjoy as well? Care to share?

Any suggestions for grilling?

I hope the ATer boys/men should get excited with this topic and should see some interesting contributions ;)

I am also looking for suggestions on non alcoholic drinks that look and taste like alcoholic drinks.

Mocktails - are considered non-alcoholic or virgin drinks.

My favorite - champagne in flutes with a touch of St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur. It's amazing!

I am vegetarian and I like paneer and veggies marinated with little spices like chilli powder, lemon, salt and herbs. Then take a thin long stick and put paneer cubes, capsicum, onions, egg plants and other veggies you like and grill it.

I am sure you will love it.

I like Margarita on a Sunny day.

Ingredients
1. Freshly squeezed Lemon - 3 ounces
2. Tequila (I buy the fresh ones) - 2 ounces
3. Triple sec - 1 ounce
4. Coarse salt to coat the glass rim. I bought the salt from Harris Teeter.

Put crushed ice (if you do not have crusher then use blender) into a drink mixer. Add lemon juice, tequila and triple sec. Mix it well. Coat the glass rim with salt. Pour the drink and enjoy.

Its a bit sour but more original than what you get in restaurants.

Phew! I would rather put in that effort for a glass of buttermilk. Or lime juice. :)

Champagne - you'll find it in any Grocery stores in the beer/wine section.

Not sure of St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur though - I'll be interested too.

A variation we have used - Chilled Champagne + (Mango)Sherbet Ice-Cream.

Champagne, beer, wine you can find at any grocery store. For the above suggestion, don't use a champagne that is too dry. Alternatively, you can also use sparkling white wine.

The Elderflower Liquer (and tequilla, and any other hard spirit) you must buy at the ABC store.

You can also infuse fruits such as melon, watermelon, strawberries with plain vodka or flavored vodka. You need to find a syringe at a drugstore, fill with vodka and "inject" into the fruit of your choice. For melons such as cataloupe and honeydew - get a melon baller and soak the fruit in the vodka. You can use the soaked pieces of fruit such as melon and strawberry in a glass filled with tonic or sprite for a light, fun summer dessert.

Vodka-soaked watermelon is amazing! (But don't eat too much! ;))

Mr. Mix-it has pretty good suggestions.

Yesterday, I tried Margarita with frozen limeade (its in frozen concentrate section minute maid or walmart brand) and pineapple. It came out very well.

I first, blended 4 ounces of canned pineapple and ice in a regular blender. I added equal parts of Limeade, tequilla (Jose Cuervo gold) and Triple Sec (orange flavored) and blended it for about 30 seconds. It came out very well. It was easier and tastier.

Don't drink too much!!

Remaining Limeade can be used to make Limbu Paani. Just add water to the concentrate. Add some ground Elachi to spice it up.
