Okay let me try again,

Police takes the thief first. he came back & takes one son to other side.
Police & thief came back.
Mother & Father goes to other side. Father stays there.
Mother came back takes her first daughter.
Father & Mother both came back & mother takes her second daughter. Mother leaves her both daughters there & came back.
Now father & mother both goes & mother stays there with her 2 daughters & father takes his son back with him.
Police & thief goes to other side now.
Then mother came back & takes father.
Father came back & takes his first son with him.
Police came back with thief & takes the other son this time. Now 2 daughters, 2 sons, father & mother are at other side.
Police came back & takes the thief now.

That cannot happen as when mother goes to side 2 with daughter 2, she cannot stay with her sons. Hmmm, you got right till this step. How can daughter 2 be brought to the side 2?

No Doeesntmatter, you made a mistake in this step. When some one is moving from one side to other side, they get down after reaching the other side and then only back to raft. So in this case mother is with sons without Father's presence. So it's wrong. you just think of the other possible way for this step.

No Vaani Ji, you are wrong again.

When Mother comes back to side 1, son is there without Father's presence.

Clue : if you combine yours and Doesntmatter correctly, the puzzle will be solved.

To make it clear. Someone is not permanently stays on the raft, once they go to some side they get down and get back.

Hey Darkload, you got it correct. Good work. But lot of credits to Doesntmatter for solving it almost 90%. Vaani and Rupa tried well.

Wait for another interesting puzzle. I also don't know the answer for the next puzzle , so we all will try it together.

Damn..in middle of something right now so cant solve it....looks like a really gud puzzle....
