Pratham NC "REACH"
The program was held on Sunday, May 17th, 4:00 p.m. at Green Hope High School, Cary, NC
Pratham NC “REACH", featured for the first time in the Triangle, a performing arts extravaganza by the diverse volunteers from the community.
"REACH” is about the community going the extra mile to support a cause which will make a big difference in the lives of people less privileged than us. The proceeds of the event would support Pratham India’s “Read India Campaign” which provides quality education to underprivileged children all over India.
The
Pratham Utsav began by taking the audience on a journey through a town (Vidhyanagari in Northern India) of talented residents who told a story of their passion for fine arts and how the folks of the town were inspired by a cause and decided to use their artistic ability to raise funds for that cause.
The diverse volunteers from the community came together for a beautiful evening full of lively story telling, fusion music, vocals, dance, puppet show and an awesome performance by the kids on a medley of songs from the Karadi Rhymes collection.
Pratham NC "REACH" was happy to announce that they raised enough money to sponsor an entire district in Tamil Nadu.
How can you help?
By supporting Pratham, you can give a child the means to escape poverty and exploitation. Your support, no matter how small, will make a big difference. It will ensure that millions of children receive basic reading and math skills. In addition, young women from the villages and slums could be empowered by training them as teachers and thus children who learn to read can continue to read to learn.
