A Conversation with Amitav Ghosh: Durham, NC (November 6, 2018)

A reading and conversation with this acclaimed novelist

Join the Franklin Humanities Institute on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 5:30 - 7:30pm for a reading and conversation with acclaimed Indian novelist Amitav Ghosh. Ghosh will screen a six-minute film and have a conversation with Franklin Humanities Institute Director Ranjana Khanna about his work, centering on aquatic aesthetics, the way in which water is rendered in his work, and his novel, The Hungry Tide. Ghosh will also read from his related novel-in-progress. This event will be at the Smith Warehouse, Ahmadieh Family Lecture Hall, Bay 4, C105 along Duke University's East Campus.

This event is part of Duke at Home in the World, a celebration of international ties organized by the Office of Global Affairs and sponsored by the von der Heyden Fellows Fund, established by Karl ('62) and Mary Ellen von der Heyden. This event is also part of the Franklin Humanities Institute's Water series.
